Brandon House is a large detached property backing into horse fields and woodland providing a rural setting in the midst of the city. The main house was built around 1944 by Meanwood Park Hospital, for the Hospital Chaplain. The grounds are totally private, being wholly enclosed by a substantial Yorkshire stone wall, in an acre of land.

The home accomodates 42 residents and has recently been refurbished and extended to a very high standard. The majority of bedrooms are on the ground floor and are single en-suite. The building provides wheelchair access throughout.

We are registered with Leeds Health Authority who inspect the home on a regular basis to ensure nursing standards remain high. Clients both privately or social services funded are accepted on long or short term basis, respite, holiday or convalescent stays. We will advise about funding if you are eligible for assistance from the Local Authority or Department of Social Security. The needs of the residents are individually assessed.

Our philosophy is Care, Comfort and Consideration. We aim to offer our residents the opportunity to enhance their quality of life by providing a safe, manageable and comfortable environment. Support and stimulation is provided to help residents to maximise their potential physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. The assumption underlying care decisions is that residents needs are understood, respected and met wherever possible, particularly bearing in mind ethnic, religious and cultural factors. Residents are treated with dignity as individuals.

Bedrooms with glorious views are spacious and most are en-suite, tastefully decorated and equipped to a high standard. Each with TV socket, telephone point and nurse call system. Residents are encouraged to bring personal possessions including small furniture. The home has a number of day lounges with views over beautiful gardens and a large separate dining room. The lounges provide regular meeting places with colour televisions for residents viewing pleasure. Families and visitors are made welcome at all times.

The cuisine is fresh, nutritious and varied. A choice of menu is offered on a daily basis and clients also have a choice of dining together or they may eat in the privacy of their own room if preferred. Special diets are catered for, in fact every conceivable attention to detail will be paid, to provide the client with whatever amenities they may require in order to make their stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

The manager is supported by a highly trained and dedicated team and provides 24-hour nursing care, with the emphasis not only on care, but also to provide a loving and caring atmosphere. The home has a planned staff teaching plan, policy and programme to ensure quality care is maintained. Our aim is to provide a high quality of care in a superb domestic setting. The team of staff arranges outings of choice and activities are held in the home in one of the large lounges or outside in the gardens, weather permitting.
